First Responders Calendar-Benefitting Tunnel to Towers Foundation

First Responders Calendar-Benefitting Tunnel to Towers Foundation

September 11th happened long before Anthony was born, but he remembers it every year because of his sensitive nature. The cover photo was taken on September 11th, 2021, when Anthony was 13. The empty pair of boots you see in the foreground is his way of symbolizing the loss of the firefighters that day. Anthony woke up that morning and asked me, “What time is it?” I looked at my phone and said, “It’s 9:11.” He said, “Screenshot that; it’s gonna be a good day. That means all my shots will be epic today.”The first firehouse he planned to go to for this shoot was all boarded up. Luckily, this one was right around the corner and even better than the first; it was a perfect day.The resulting photos went viral around social media and soon caught the attention of the Tunnel to Tower’s foundation. They asked Anthony to create a first responder’s calendar. Anthony liked the idea, and after months of finding the perfect models, modifying them, and going on location shoots, this calendar is the result. It was essential to Anthony that a portion of the proceeds from the sale of this calendar will be donated to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. You will understand why when you learn more about this organization. The Tunnel to Towers Foundation is a beautiful charity created by the family of a firefighter who lost his life on September 11, 2001. They help the families of fallen first responders by paying off their mortgages so they can stay in their homes. They also help veterans and do many other beautiful things. Here is the story of the brave man that the Tunnel to Towers Foundation is in memory of:On September 11, 2001, Firefighter Stephen Gerard Siller, who was assigned to Brooklyn’s Squad 1, had just finished his shift and was on his way to play golf with his brothers when he got word over his scanner of a plane hitting the North Tower of the World Trade Center. Upon hearing the news, Stephen called his wife Sally and asked her to tell his brothers he would catch up with them later. He returned to Squad 1 to get his gear.Stephen drove his truck to the entrance of the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel, but it had already been closed for security purposes. Determined to carry out his duty, he strapped 60 lbs. of gear to his back and raced on foot through the tunnel to the Twin Towers, where he gave up his life while saving others.

Here I Am - An Original Song by Craig Martin

Meeting Craig Martin at Trunk or Treat It wasn't long ago that we met Craig Martin at Trunk or Treat. He was showcasing his stunning jet-black 1987 Grand National. At that time, Anthony was dressed as Doc from "Back to the Future" and struck up a conversation with Craig, who is also a musician. Craig, whose grandson has autism, was quite taken with Anthony. A Song for Anthony's Photography Craig generously offered to write a song to accompany Anthony's photography for online posting. Over time, he kept in touch via email, consistently reminding us about his promise and updating us on the song's progress. When he sent us the first mix of the song, it was an overwhelming experience. The song exceeded our expectations, with its remarkable vocal quality, heart-felt lyrics that perfectly describe Anthony, and even a mention of his '57 Ford and Silverhawk, which Anthony particularly enjoyed. Craig's Personal Connection and Challenges Craig admitted, “This is probably the hardest song I’ve ever written, given the pre-determined subject matter. Trying to express something through the eyes of Anthony or my grandson, Peyton, was challenging. I’m not them, so I can only speculate about their perspective on life.” He also shared how emotional the process was, to the point where he would get choked up during recording and mixing. He even had to leave the room when playing an earlier version for Peyton’s mother, Ashley, his daughter. The Video Featuring Peyton In the music video, Craig's grandson Peyton, who is also autistic, played the younger version of Anthony. Peyton, dressed in a white shirt, is shown alongside Anthony, who is teaching him how to pose with the original truck from his first viral photo, taken when he was just 10 years old. Anthony’s brother, Alex, was also involved in the project. Craig taught Anthony rocker moves and poses, allowing Anthony to channel his inner rock star. As Anthony puts it, "autism kicks butt!" And now, it rocks too!
